Setting up a fully remote development environment: a tutorial
This tutorial will guide you through a solution of creating a remote development environment. This is particularly useful for remote working (e.g. with a remote PC using a laptop), cloud computing (within a virtual container), and many other scenarios.
I will join Huawei Noah's Ark Lab (Hong Kong)
I am excited to announce that I will officially join Huawei Noah’s Ark Lab (Hong Kong) on September 4, 2023, as a researcher in robotics and embodied AI.
After careful consideration and discussions, I have discovered remarkable common interests with Huawei’s AI research team in Hong Kong. Together, we aim to leverage recent progress in large language models and robotics research to create intelligent and interactive robots. Our vision is to develop smart, assistive systems that not only possess cognitive capabilities but also interact with the physical world, similar to the way humans do.
The lab is located in the Hong Kong Science Park, a picturesque area nestled between mountains and the sea, near the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
Tmux is a very productive and versatile terminal multiplexer released in 2007. Its design stems from GNU Screen, the prototypical terminal multiplexer first released in 1987.
A typical application of Tmux is remote work. Imagine that you ssh to your office machine and open a remote terminal to run programs. The SSH connection is suddenly broken for some reasons, e.g. poor signal, power cut, etc. As a result, all running processes are lost as the terminal session is closed.
Cape D’Aguilar (aka Hok Tsui, or 鶴咀 in Chinese) is a peninsula on the southeast side of Hong Kong Island. Cape d’Aguilar is the the only Marine Reserve in Hong Kong.
I have successfully defended my PhD thesis
I am pleased to announce that I have successfully defended my PhD dissertation at 5 p.m. (Central European Time) on Friday, 17th February, 2023, in Paris.
